How To Make Lemon Chicken (recipe)

Updated: Apr 15, 2019

Last night, I tried a new chicken recipe because I am so tired of eating the usual Tandoori chicken. The dish turned out really well and will probably be my go to for the next few months. Check out the recipe and video tutorial below!

Ingredients:

2.5 pounds of chicken (you can use any kind of chicken, but for best results use boned chicken)

1.5 lemon

1 cup of vineger

2 teaspoons of salt

1 teaspoon red chilli powder

1 teaspoon chilli flakes

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons of oil (you can use any kind of oil)

Method:

Step 1: Wash and clean your chicken

Step 2: Place your chicken into the cooking pan (for best results do not layer the chicken)

Step 3: Squeeze the lemon onto the chicken and add in the vinegar, salt, red chilli powder, chilli flakes, black pepper and oil directly into the pan.

Step 4: Mix the chicken and spices well either using your hands or a spoon

Step 5: Leave the chicken to marinate for 30 minutes

Step 6: After 30 min, turn the fire to a high to begin the cooking process.

Step 7: Once the mixture begins to boil, turn the fire down to medium and place the lid on the pan.

Step 8: Allow the chicken to cook for 25 min (you can flip the chicken at the halfway mark)

Step 9: After about 25 min, check to make sure your chicken has cooked (if the chicken has cooked and there is still liquid remaining, raise your fire to the high setting and let the liquid evaporate until you are left with a dry chicken.)

Step 10: Enjoy! I paired mine with a sweet kale salad, which complimented the lemon chicken really well, but this dish can be paired with numerous options.
